common mistakes you must avoid if you want to pass the test first time
- Over speeding
- Failing to give way to vehicles
- Mount the kerb while parking movements or driving
- Not obey instructions given by tester
- Failing to signal
- Fail to stop properly at a stop sign
- Forgetting to release handbrake
- Stopping over the solid line at traffic lights
- Driving on the wrong side of the road
- Not using mirrors
Driving safely may not be sufficient to pass the driving test. Since the licence testing officers will be looking into the sequence in which you are performing the task, you must drive according to the criteria that instructor will teach you .Basic rule here is MSH.That is mirror, signal and head check.
Let’s take an example
Instruction (When safe, move to the right lane)
- Check Internal mirror then Left side mirror
- Indicate left minimum 3 seconds
- Adjust speed to create gap if needed while maintaining the speed.
- After that do a head check and if no one in the blind spot
- Move gradually to the right lane.
- Cancel the signal after complete the lane change
It’s okay to indicate/ put blinker on to show your intention of lane change and then wait until it’s safe to do the lane change.
Your instruction: “At the next lights turn left from the right turning lane”.
You must understand the instruction properly. Then you perform the task.Testing Officer is asking you to turn left.Dont get confused turning left from right lane as he said right turning lane.Yes !! there is a difference in right lane and right turning lane.
